  6. WFTPD - the all round useful Windows FTP Daemon.

  8. WFTPD is a Windows program that allows you to set up your machine
  9. as an FTP site.  It runs under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and 
  10. Windows NT, and users consistently inform me that it is the
  11. fastest server available on these platforms.  It is easy to
  12. configure through Windows dialogs, and requires no direct editing
  13. of INI files or of Registry databases.

  39. Version 2.20 adds capabilities for resuming interrupted
  40. transfers, the ability to pull up a directory selection dialog
  41. whenever a directory is required to be entered, and makes it
  42. easier to alter the IP address and port listened to by WFTPD.

  46. o 32-bit and 16-bit versions available, to allow use on all Intel
  47.   x86 Windows platforms
  48. o RFC compliance to 959 & 1123 (in other words, it's a real FTP
  49.   server)
  50. o Support for the majority of documented FTP commands, and some
  51.   of the undocumented ones (it doesn't support the obscure ones
  52.   for mail, etc.)
  53. o Multiple logins and simultaneous transfers allowed
  54. o Works with Mosaic / NetScape / Cello / Internet Explorer / etc.
  55. o Runs (as tested by real users) over most Winsock compliant
  56.   drivers
  57. o Site can be made read-only, or read-only to anonymous users, at
  58.   the click of a button.
  59. o User-configurable time-out on hung/idle connections.
  60. o Secured access by means of password authentication, address-
  61.   based host authentication, and the ability to restrict users to
  62.   named subtrees of your directory structure
  63. o Further security by means of user rights which may be set
  64.   easily on any directories in your system - including those that
  65.   don't yet exist
  66. o Remote access to ALL drives on your system is possible
  67. o Windows friendly - does not flash cursors while it is
  68.   transferring, or hold up processing
  69. o Can run 'invisible' - with no user access to the program
  70. o Logs logins, anonymous logins, gets, puts, commands, warnings -
  71.   what's logged is configurable
  72. o Logs to file that can be read by other applications, including
  73.   session number, time and date stamp.  This information is also
  74.   logged to the screen.  Other Windows applications can read this
  75.   log while it is open, and it can be transferred through WFTPD.
  76. o Most strings can be edited in the resource information - for
  77.   customization, or translation
  78. o Small - around 240K for the 16-bit version, 330K for the 32-bit
  79. o Status bar display of count of users, and number of sockets in
  80.   use

  83. In addition, for the low price of $20 ($5 extra for disks), you
  84. get these features:

  86. o Easily configurable greeting - the unregistered one tells
  87.   people that you haven't registered
  88. o As many transfers per login as required - only 5 are allowed in
  89.   the unregistered version before you have to re-login.
  90.   (Directory listings don't count towards this 5)  (And only 15
  91.   PASV transfers are allowed before having to restart the server
  92.   in the unregistered version)

  94. o Peace of mind - can you sleep at nights knowing that your $20
  95.   may be the only thing standing between me and an overdraft/
